In Norse mythology, the hammer belonged to Thor, the Norse God of thunder. The Elder Futhark runes on the pendant read MJOLNIR, (mo-yol-nir) the name of Thor's hammer, from right to left. Mjolnir is commonly thought to mean "That which smashes". Wearing Thor's Hammer is an expression of strength and determination.
Details: The Thor's Hammer necklace is sterling silver and finished with your choice of enamel colors. The pendant measures 34. 4 mm long including the bail, 22. 8 mm wide at the runes, 18. 9 mm wide at the pommel and 5. 8 mm wide at the narrowest part of the handle. The bail measures 5. 4 mm top to bottom. The hammer weighs approximately 7 grams. The back of the pendant is partially carved out slightly to reduce weight and is stamped with our makers mark, copyright, and metal content.
